Our mornings began with two headlines “Meghan Markle Makes A Surprise Appearance At British Fashion Awards” and “Meghan Markle Loses Another Top Aide Amid Rumours Of Being Demanding”. These were both in just in one publication. So which is it? Can we celebrate the new Royal whilst also still believing she’s difficult and unbearable to work with?

The former actress, 37, who sure receives a lot of flak from online bullies who troll the Kensington Palace Instagram account, made a surprise appearance at Monday’s British Fashion Awards to present Givenchy’s Clare Waight Keller with the British Womenswear Designer Of The Year Award. (Keller of course was the visionary behind Markle’s wedding dress).

Markle who was more at home at the fashion event than when she is meeting the people in the street said she was happy to be amongst the crowd in the room, some of whom she’s known for years. Keller also spoke so highly of the Duchess. “This woman is so amazing,” Keller told the crowd after accepting the award from Markle. “I got to know Meghan on such a personal level. To have someone like that trust you in an incredible moment in their life is something that is just the most unbelievable honour. And I can’t thank you enough because it was the most beautiful moment. Thank you.”

But for every positive headline, there’s a negative and this time it weighed it on Markle and Prince Harry’s personal secretary announcing her resignation. May it be known, the Australian woman in question is Samantha Cohen, a 50-year-old mother-of three who is about to welcome her fourth child in the spring. She has served as a communication secretary for 17 years and is one of the Queen’s most trusted aides. Cohen was reportedly tasked with teaching Markle Royal etiquette.

Cohen’s resignation comes as another high-profile aide Melissa Toubati, 39, left just six months after the wedding. A source told The Mirror “She put up with a lot. Meghan put a lot of demands on her and it ended with her in tears.” The PA reportedly worked very happily for Robbie Williams in the past.
