Meghan Markle and Prince Harry made the decision not to tell her father Thomas Markle they were expecting their first child.

When asked by royal reporter Rebecca English whether Mr Markle had been informed of the news individually, a Palace spokesperson replied “no comment”.

According to Us Weekly, the couple decided not to call Mr Markle with the news.

“Meghan did not tell Thomas Markle about the pregnancy,” a source said.

“He found out the same time as the rest of the world.”

It’s no surprise Meghan decided her dad could find out at the same time as the public.

Mr Markle has failed to earn Meghan and Harry’s trust in the months since the royal wedding, sharing information the couple told him in private with media outlets.

He’s also described Meghan as “cold” and having a “sense of superiority”, and slammed the royal family as “cult-like”.

He’s also claimed he doesn’t care if he never speaks to Harry again, and played a particularly manipulative card in one interview, pondering:

“Perhaps it would be easier for Meghan if I died.Everybody would be filled with sympathy for her. But I hope we reconcile. I’d hate to die without speaking to Meghan again.”

It comes as Harry and Meghan begin their tour of Australia. The couple is expected to visit Taronga Zoo and the Opera House on Tuesday.
