Since March, we’ve been more invested in activewear, pyjamas, and loungewear than ever before—which has given rise to a whole slew of culty brands, like Pangaia, Sporty & Rich, and LesJour. Now, you can add the Los Angeles-based yoga brand Alo to the list, thanks to nods of approval from the likes of Phoebe Tonkin, Kaia Gerber, and Hailey Bieber.

Gerber was spotted in the brands’ spandex workout shorts during a gym visit with her boyfriend, the Australian actor Jacob Elordi, back in September—while Bieber wore a blush set by the label to a hot yoga class with Addison Rae late last month. Now, Australian actress Phoebe Tonkin can be added to the list—she wore a black long-sleeved set by Alo for an at-home workout, which she shared with her Instagram followers overnight.

Far from an ’emerging’ label, Alo has been the go-to leggings label of the rich and famous since their inception in 2007. Gigi Hadid, Taylor Swift, and Kendall Jenner have all been spotted in the Los Angeles-based brands’ designs—though their popularity has undoubtedly picked up again during quarantine.

The brands’ cult following is in large part due to their impressive core values. Alo commits, for example, to sustainable business practices—including a solar-powered office, electric-car charging stations for their staff, and an advanced recycling program that drastically reduces their annual waste. Plus, they run a charity arm called ‘Alo Gives’, that offers free meditation and yoga classes to underprivileged children. That, with the added bonus of being surprisingly affordable and polished enough to straddle #WFH comfort with looking respectable during a morning coffee run, makes them a win-win in our book.
