Stepping inside the new MECCA Aesthetica space in Melbourne is akin to entering beauty nirvana. With soothing, stylish tones of blush, rich ruby, earthy amber, gold and cream, guests experience fresh sensorial wonder while at the same time encountering an abating familiarity that comes with every visit to MECCA.
It’s the beauty retailer’s first stand-alone space for high-tech skin treatments, located in Highpoint Shopping Centre (and of course, it’s right next door to a bustling MECCA store). Here guests can have a bespoke skin experience with MECCA’s team of knowledgable dermal therapists, with services extending from quick, on-the-go treatments to custom facials with light therapy.
Upon my visit, I’m greeted by the welcoming team who begin with a full-scale consultation about my skin. There’s an extremely in-depth scan with a VISIA Skin Analysis machine, which helps to determine which MECCA Aesthetica treatment will be most beneficial for my complexion. We also go through my entire skincare routine and recurrent concerns (breakouts and pigmentation), before moving into the tranquil treatment rooms for the MECCA Advanced Signature Treatment.
The bed is soft and my therapist’s hands are gentle as my skin is given some much needed TLC with the latest in-house products and technology, including exfoliation, tightening and infusion. Though the VISIA results showed that my skin is actually presenting four years younger than my actual age (win!), the experience is so relaxing and rejuvenating that it feels like the treatment actually takes off close to 10.
At the conclusion of my appointment, my therapist and I make a plan (with handily detailed notes) to keep my skin on track to meet my goals. As I left floating and glowing with that tell-tale post-facial bliss, I immediately wanted to book in another appointment and tell all my friends about this incredible new offering, which is set to extend to other parts of the country in the coming years.

The services on offer range from express 30-minute ‘booster’ facials to advanced, personalised treatments, so that even the time-poor can give their skin a quick refresh with no downtime – ideal before a big event. You can also book in for a consultation that’s $50 and completely redeemable on your next appointment, creating a valuable entry-point for any novices looking get serious about their skin.
Still not sure where to get started? Tsaousis recommends the very same treatment I chose. “For a personalised and results-oriented facial, we highly recommend our MECCA Signature Treatment, which employs a blend of three cutting-edge techniques to rejuvenate and nourish your skin,” she says. “The outcome is an enhanced complexion, improved muscle tone, and a tightening effect for a radiant, MECCA-like glow.”
Since opening in late December, MECCA Aesthetica has become a huge hit at Highpoint. “The response to MECCA Aesthetica has blown us away!
