Louis Tomlinson has avoided criminal charges and a court case over his brawl with a photographer at Los Angeles International Terminal on March 4.
According to TMZ, both sides have been ordered to attend an informal hearing at the L.A. City Attorney’s Office, where they will “present their version of events and a hearing officer will advise the parties how they should conduct themselves in the future.”
It’s no doubt a happy outcome for the One Direction star, who was shown dragging the photographer onto the ground and also getting physical with a young female bystander, who was involved in an altercation with his girlfriend Eleanor Calder.
A lawyer for Louis said his client was “provoked” by the paparazzo.
“While the altercation was going on with the paparazzi, three other individuals were attacking his girlfriend during this incident and he came to her defence.”
Footage published by Radar Online showed the 25-year-old Brit lunging at the paparazzo, when the two fell into a scuffle which ended with Tomlinson appearing to run off holding pieces of the man’s camera equipment.
Louis and Eleanor had just arrived from Las Vegas when the incident occurred.
It’s been a difficult few months for the singer; he tragically lost his mother Johannah Deakin in December after she died of leukemia at just 43. He recently embarked on a solo career as a One Direction reunion seems unlikely; his first single is Just Hold On is believed to be a tribute to his late mother.
