Lorde might want to consider running her Instagram captions by someone before posting from now on.

The singer suffered an embarrassing gaffe when she captioned a photo of a bathtub with the Whitney Houston lyrics “I will always love you”.

She apparently did not make the connection that Houston died in a bathtub in 2012.

When many users starting calling her out over what they thought was a joke in extremely poor taste, the Green Light singer realised her error and deleted it.

“Extremely extremely poor chosen quote,” she wrote on her Instagram story.

“I’m so sorry for offending anyone — I hadn’t even put this together I was just excited to take a bath. I’m an idiot. Love Whitney forever and ever. Sorry again.”

The shame of the mistake apparently settling in, she later added “IT IS NOT MY FKN DAY TODAY.”

A second set of eyes can be useful indeed.
