As the internet is embroiled in Team Conrad vs Team Jerimiah discourse, Lola Tung has been out doing press for season 3 of The Summer I Turned Pretty.
The 22-year-old has swiftly garnered a reputation for cool girl style and has seen the front row of many fashion week shows. While her character Isabel, or ‘Belly’, leans more feminine and referential with her taste, Tung embraces a bit of edge and isn’t afraid to test-drive passing trends.
Most recently, Tung was out in New York City in a casual but elevated fit, featuring one of the seasons rising trends. The actress was spotted in a white tank, and wide-legged plaid trousers, with a monogramed silk scarf from Coach tied around her waist.

The sarong-style belted scarf has been gaining traction among many a tastemaker over the past few months. Previously, perpetual muse Alexa Chung has been seen wearing the style. In a similar ensemble, featuring a white T-Shirt and some baggy trousers, Chung tied a Gucci silk scarf around her waist. Celebrities like Kylie Jenner and Alessandra Ambrosio have also donned the accessory.
The addition does the trick of taking a simple base and elevating it, as well as adding a touch of personalisation, something the zeitgeist is growingly enamoured with.
In Tung’s case, she further personalised her look with a Coachtopia bag featuring a few charms, as well as a furry accessory. (No, not a Labubu). Stars seem to be carrying around their furry friends a la 2000s socialite again, and it looks like Tung is partaking in this trend too.

As we all stream our way through the latest season of her show, we’re also inclined to keep an eye out for appearances from the young starlet, as there is sure to be more style inspiration to come.
