Leave it to Lizzo to serve up not one, but two iconic red carpet moments at the 2021 Grammy Awards. The singer looked “Good As Hell” in her shimmering spearmint Balmain gown, before later changing into a second shimmering Balmain dress, this time in an iridescent baby pink. She paired both looks with gloriously glowy skin, groomed arches and a stunning bronze smoky eye, which in our opinion is an award-worthy combination in itself.

Of course, it’s not an easy feat to create one look that equally serves two different dresses, as makeup artist Alexx Mayo can attest. “I wanted to contrast the softness of the Balmain gown with a striking smokey feline shape and kissable soft lips and a statement lash,” Mayo told E! of the inspiration behind the star’s glamorous look.

Mayo used a slew of Charlotte Tilbury products to create a luminous base, including the brand’s iconic Hollywood Flawless Filter, Magic Away Concealer and Walk Of No Shame Blush. On the eyes, the makeup artist chose the limited edition Hollywood Flawless Eye Filter in Diva Lights and Rock ‘N’ Khol Eyeliner in Bedroom Black.

For the skin, celebrity facialist Iván Pol of The Beauty Sandwich was enlisted to give Lizzo’s complexion a luminous boost. According to Pol, it was all down to skincare from Augustinus Bader, including the brand’s luxurious cleansing balm, cream and face oil.

Pol started with The Cleansing Balm, before working in The Rich Cream – a cult moisturiser that boasts Alexa Chung and Victoria Beckham as fans – which was recently upgraded to offer even bigger beauty benefits to the skin, courtesy of patented ingredient TCF8. “It’s the perfect dressing to my sandwich because it promotes elasticity while protecting you against TEWL for lasting hydration,” Pol wrote of the popular product on Instagram.

Finally, Pol locked in Lizzo’s freshly incandescent complexion with The Face Oil, “a rich blend of botanicals that reduce[s] the appearance of fine lines and hyperpigmentation with no greasy residue on the skin. Perfect Primer for makeup and natural highlighter,” wrote Pol.
