Lily James’ upcoming role as Pamela Anderson in the mini-series Pam & Tommy got the whole world talking when the first teaser image of James was released last year showing her looking identical to her character. It wasn’t just the hair, makeup and wardrobe—though the hours James spent in there each morning prior to filming definitely helped—but somehow James had managed to emulate Anderson’s allure.

Now that filming has finished, James and her co-stars, including Sebastian Stan as Anderson’s then-husband Tommy Lee, are embarking on the show’s press tour, and, if her first look is anything to go by, it appears James is set to continue emulating her character throughout.

In images shared to Instagram, the British actress is seen wearing a black Vivienne Westwood corset dress, which features a zip down the front accentuating her cleavage and showing off her figure. Similar to Anderson’s signature beauty look, James wore her hair voluminous and wavy with a matte nude lip and Anderson’s perfected pout on her face. Just replace James’ auburn hair with Anderson’s platinum blonde and add a bit of extra eyeliner and you’d barely be able to tell them apart. Case in point:

This isn’t the first time James has been inspired by her character style-wise in recent months, either. Rather than wearing her usual bright, floral pieces—she’s a fan of Valentino couture—James’ wardrobe has instead been infused with black, including a crop top and high-waisted pants combo and another Miu Miu all-black two-piece.

Though James has clearly been taking style cues from Anderson, she revealed recently she’d tried to get in touch with the iconic star ahead of filming beginning, however, Anderson ignored her attempts.

“I was really hopeful that she would be involved. I wish it had been different,” James told Porter. “My sole intention was to take care of the story and to play Pamela authentically.”

“I was very hopeful that we would be in touch right up until we started filming.”

In the same interview, James also spoke of how she transformed into Anderson, revealing her hair and makeup would start four hours before filming, usually at 3.am. “Slowly, our incredible team found a balance where I resembled Pamela but also felt like I could act through it,” she explained, noting this included a chest plate, wig, and tan.

Pam & Tommy will air on Hulu in the US and Disney+ everywhere else from February 2nd.
