You may have heard the whispers about secret dressing rooms in boutiques like Dior or Chanel, where celebrities are invited to choose outfits to wear at red carpet events; cupboards bursting with designer gowns worth thousands from which they can pick whatever they like.

Now it’s a little easier to imagine what that’s like thanks to Lily Collins, who Instagrammed her experience picking a dress for tomorrow’s Golden Globes.

The model/actress shared a photo of a room packed with racks bursting with luxurious looking numbers, teasingly captioning the shot “Like a kid in a candy shop.”

The next post she uploaded might be even more envy-inducing, though (top of page). The 27-year-old appears to be nude, or in some very tiny underwear. Regardless, she’s literally swimming in a sea of tulle and silk, apparently overcome with the task of choosing just one gown to wear to the ceremony in Los Angeles.

It’s a tough life.

Collins, the daughter of iconic singer and musician Phil Collins, received a Golden Globe nomination for her role as Marla Mabrey in film Rules Don’t Apply, set in 1950s Hollywood and directed by Warren Beatty. The movie, which tells the story of a young actress (Collins) in a romantic relationship with her driver (Alden Ehrenreich), bombed at the box-office, but Lily’s nomination proves it wasn’t a total flop.

We don’t have long to wait to find out what Lily wore: the Golden Globes red carpet begins at around 9am Monday, Australian Eastern Standard Time.
