A little over a year ago, Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth’s split was confirmed just hours before Cyrus was spotted kissing reality star Kaitlynn Carter on an Italian getaway. As you can only expect when it’s news concerning one of the most famous couples in the world, the story was all anyone could talk about for weeks and every single move either of the pair made was instantly reported on.
For his part, Hemsworth took off to Byron Bay in Australia to lick his wounds, surrounding himself with family as Cyrus continued to post public displays of love with Carter and then, later, with Australian musician Cody Simpson.
But fast-forward to now and the actor is very much loved-up with Australian model Gabriella Brooks, who he’s been dating for nearly a year. In fact, they’re doing so well that they’ve now gone Instagram official courtesy of Hemsworth’s older, equally famous brother, Chris.
In black and white photos from a Peaky Blinders-themed party to celebrate brother number three, Luke Hemsworth’s, 40th birthday party, Hemsworth and Brooks are seen posing with the family with Hemsworth’s arm draped over his girlfriend. This marks the first time one of the family has posted a photo of the couple online, too (Brooks and Liam still haven’t shared anything of each other on their own accounts).
In another photo shared by Luke’s wife, Samantha, Brooks poses sans Hemsworth on a chair holding a fan in front of her.
According to Us Weekly, “[Hemsworth] feels more at home with Gabriella than he did with Miley and feels like he can be his complete self without any drama,” says a source. “Gabriella helped Liam boost his confidence and played an encouraging role in his life after his split with Miley. They are very happy together and it’s comfortable and easy.”
“Liam’s family really like Gabriella for him,” they added. “She understands Liam’s values as well as his family’s, which is something that’s very important to him and them.”
Finding an easy, loving relationship with an Australian babe after a tumultuous decade-long relationship should be on everyone’s break-up vision board.
