Coco Rocha knows how to pose like no other. This is the model who recently used a Brooklyn, New York construction site as her playground for the cover of our Reinvention Issue, after all. But on Friday night, as New York Fashion Week kicked off, all eyes were firmly planted on the front row, where SNL comedian Leslie Jones brought an entire week’s worth of energy to Christian Siriano’s autumn/winter 2020 show.

As models walked the runway, Jones could be heard shouting praise from her seat (and sometimes out of it), much to the delight of Heidi Klum, Rachel Bilson, Alicia Silverstone and Alexa Chung, who were seated in the front row alongside her.

Saving the best ’til last, as Rocha walked the finale in an hourglass structured dress, Jones stood up and shouted, “Show ’em how it’s done, baby” and “Yas, Coco!,” a display which can be seen in the brilliant video below:

Following the show, Rocha took to Twitter to share a video, writing, “If only I had @Lesdoggg to hype me up every day of my life!!!”

As for Siriano’s new collection, the designer wrote in his show notes that he was inspired equally by Harley Quinn from Margot Robbie’s new film Birds of Prey as well as the Dadaism art movement of the early 20th century.

Of course, Siriano is the designer behind Billy Porter’s viral tuxedo gown from last year’s Oscars red carpet, which was debuted almost a year ago to the day.

With the highly-anticipated awards ceremony taking place tomorrow, here’s hoping Porter opts for another of these show-stopping designs. We vote for the one Coco is wearing.
