Lady Gaga’s representatives have confirmed the A Star Is Born actress has called off her engagement to talent agent Christian Carino. According to PEOPLE, sources say the relationship “just didn’t work out” and that there is “no long dramatic story” behind the break-up.

Speculation mounted that there could be relationship drama when Gaga was spotted without her pink diamond engagement ring on the Grammy Awards red carpet last week. She was also without Carino (which is probably, actually, more telling given she was up for two major awards).

The couple first began dating in February 2017, just months after Gaga called off her engagement to actor Taylor Kinney (who, according to her music, gave her a million reasons to walk away). While never performing in halves, Gaga has always remained very private when it comes to her personal life. She never announced her engagement to Carino, instead simply thanking him – “my fiancé” – during her speech at Elle’s 25th Annual Women in Hollywood Celebration in October 2018.

One man, however, Gaga is extremely publicly affectionate with is her A Star Is Born co-star and director Bradley Cooper. Let us be clear, there are no rumours Cooper and Gaga have ever been involved, but there is actual psychological reasoning into why we wish they were. The pair will perform the film’s hit Shallow at Monday’s Oscars.

As far as we know, Carino, 49, is still working as Gaga’s agent.

More to come.
