La Mer’s precious lotion, Crème de la Mer, has been supersized.

As part of the “Crème de la Mer: Secrets of an Icon” pop-up, the iconic cream has taken the form of a giant, interactive installation in Sydney’s Pitt St Mall. Sitting at a whopping 4.8m x 6m (now that’s a big jar!), guests are invited to explore inside the jar where they can learn about the science of bio-fermentation, watch video stories of ocean conservation from friends of the brand and see artists’ interpretations of the five different cream textures that make up the La Mer moisture collection. Also on display is a “Million Dollar Wall”, created using jars of Crème de la Mer whose combined value adds up to $1 million AUD.

The pop-up opens to the public today and will run for four days, including visits from La Mer Tastemakers Gemma Watts (The Glow Journal), Lindy Klim (Rama Voyage) and Eleanor Pendleton (Gritty Pretty). Entry is open to the public and free of charge, and visitors will be offered a complimentary sample of The Moisturizing Soft Cream 3ml to be able to experience the magical effects of La Mer for themselves.

Now imagine if that jar was actually full of the wondrous cream? One can only dream…
