Kim Kardashian’s diet and exercise routine has been the subject of many a headline over the years with millions following her every move and 5:30am workout schedule.

But overnight, Kardashian revealed something rather surprising: she is a vegetarian and, not only that, but her four children also follow a plant-based diet with the exception of six-year-old North, who is a pescatarian.

During an impromptu Twitter Q+A after she declared a craving for eggo waffles (packet waffles from the supermarket in the US), Kardashian replied to someone asking whether she’d ever go vegan, writing, “I eat mostly plant based. No meat anymore.”

As for her children – Psalm, 8 months, Chicago, 2, Saint, 4, and North – Kardashian confirmed they’re all vegetarian with the exception of her eldest. “North is a pescatarian,” she wrote.

Kardashian also offered up some examples of her typical day on a plate, writing, “Oatmeal and vegan sausage for breakfast, vegan tacos are my fave for lunch! Salads are good too!”

This revelation is a far cry from Kardashian’s previous eating habits. She famously followed the ultra-strict Atkins diet after the birth of her first two children, cutting out carbohydrate intake and incorporating an abundance of protein and healthy fats.
