It feels like yesterday that we brought you the story about Kim Kardashian dressing up as Elle Woods in a glitter bikini. And, while we have seriously enjoyed moments like Kardashian’s Mugler at The Met and an entire coffee table book dedicated to selfies, the reality star and serious law student says that chapter in her life might have come to a close.

“I guess I just don’t care as much anymore to want to take tons of photos in a thong bikini,” Kardashian told The Cut. “I think I’m evolving to where I don’t feel the need to want to keep up. “I don’t know if it’s the fact that my husband has voiced that sometimes too sexy is just overkill and he’s not comfortable with that… But I have kind of had this awakening myself. I realised I could not even scroll through Instagram in front of my kids without full nudity coming up on my feed pretty much all the time. And I definitely contributed to that. I mean, one of my most iconic covers was the Paper magazine one, when I was all oiled up and ripping my dress off.”

“I also did think, like, ‘Okay, I’m here in the White House and then the next day I was posting, like, a crazy bikini selfie,’” she continued. “And I was thinking, ‘I hope they don’t see this.’ I have to go back there next week.”

This notion isn’t new for Kardashian. A couple of weeks ago, she told The Real about her husband’s hesitations when it came to her wearing the tiny Mugler corset to the Met Gala this year. “We were having this conversation of just, when is it too much? And I am a mother-of-four and I am going to be 40 next year. When is it time to stop?”

Meanwhile, Kardashian tweeted a little life hack on Sunday evening: a recipe for melting M&Ms in the microwave. “Put them on a plate, then in the microwave for 30 seconds and it will change your life! Melted on the inside and crunch on the outside,” she responded to a commenter.

I’m enjoying how honest Kardashian is being about sexiness at 40 – and it does a raise a good question. In 2019, can the woman in the White House be the woman in the bikini on Instagram? And can the woman in the bikini eat melted M&Ms? And can she be 40 and do all of these things? Of course she can.
