Reality star and beauty mogul Kim Kardashian and rapper Kanye West have announced the arrival of their fourth child, a son, via surrogate. The 38-year-old took to her Twitter to confirm they are now a family of six.
“He’s here and he’s perfect,” wrote Kardashian. “He’s also [daughter] Chicago’s twin lol I’m sure he will change a lot but now he looks just like her [sic].”
The couple’s surrogate reportedly went into labour on Thursday, a detail Kardashian’s sister Kourtney let slip on The Ellen DeGeneres Show on the same day. The sisters were meant to appear on the talk show to surprise their mum Kris Jenner with her six grandchildren for Mother’s Day.
“Kim was supposed to be here,” said DeGeneres.
“My mum doesn’t even know this, but Kim’s surrogate went into labour,” replied Kourtney. “So she’s at the hospital.”
While Kardashian birthed her first two children – daughter North, now 5, and son Saint, now 3 – doctors advised it too dangerous for her to fall pregnant again. Her second daughter Chicago was delivered via surrogate last year and Kardashian did confirm that her fourth child’s surrogate was not the same as Chicago’s.
Rumours were swirling that the baby had already been born this week, something Kardashian corrected. “Wait just saw news our baby boy came but that’s not true!” she tweeted ahead of the Met Gala on Monday. “It’s Met Monday, I’m in NYC. I would be at the hospital lol. [sic]”
Let’s hope the impending next few nights are as blissful as Kardashian’s CBD-themed baby shower. Guests were treated to a sound bath, meditation session and took home Yeezy slides and CBD-infused bath oils and bath salts.
There is no news on the baby’s name as of yet. And so we wait with bated breath…
