Whatever illness Kylie Jenner was struck down with that caused her to miss the Emmys last night, she’s probably not feeling too bad about it.

Kendall and Kim stepped up to the mic to present the best reality television series award on their own, and were nearly laughed off the stage.

“Our family knows firsthand how truly compelling television comes from real people just being themselves,” Kim began.

“Telling their stories unfiltered and unscripted,” Kylie continued, barely audible amidst the snorts and guffaws that Kim prompted.

Awkies. But really, ladies, what in god’s name made you think that the world’s best actors might be appreciative of your “authenticity”?

Between that and the lukewarm response to Kendall’s floral/latex Richard Quinn look (Kim’s black Vivienne Westwood velvet bustier gown was a safer choice), it was not really the night of nights for two of the world’s most famous people.

Kim, and especially Kendall’s discomfort was noticeable as they were mocked on stage, but fortunately their speech was short and sweet and they were able to make a speedy exit.

It’s unlikely, however, that the sting of humiliation will last long for the sisters, as comedian Kathy Griffin later pointed out when speaking to ET.

“Let me tell you what the Kardashians do — because I used to live next door to Kim and Kanye [West]. …”. She said. “What they do is they get laughed at and then they go home and they count their money — and they print it. I think they have a printing machine.”

Pretty much.
