The impact Kim Kardashian’s robbery has had on her family was obvious at their first major public event since the terrifying incident in Paris on October 2.
While Kim opted to stay home as she recovers from the ordeal, Kris Jenner, Khloe and Kourtney made an appearance at LA’s The Grove shopping centre on Tuesday to promote Khloe’s new denim line, Good American.
The security presence was significantly increased; before the robbery the Kardashian-Jenner women might be accompanied by one or two bodyguards at the most, but photos from the event showed at least four or five bulky, suited men never more than a few steps away from them at all times.

While Khloe and Kris posed for photographers on the red carpet, Kourtney decided to skip it. She entered the event unnoticed and was only pictured in a photo posted to her Instagram account which looked to be taken at a secluded spot somewhere inside the shopping centre.

Speaking to E News! at the event, which was packed with hundreds of fans and onlookers, Kris was almost lost for words when asked for an update on Kim.
“She’s just … it’s a process. She’s … one day at a time. It’s a process. What can I say?”
She said the incident in Paris, which saw robbers gain entry into Kim’s apartment, put a gun to her head and make off with around $10 million in jewellery, had hugely changed the way the famous family will operate from now on.
“You start looking at the world a little bit differently. Because when you have a daughter at home who’s struggling, because of something horrific and tragic that happened, you start looking around a little bit differently.
“I think this is a wake-up call, not just for our family but for anyone in a similar position.”

Meanwhile, People magazine has quoted a source close to Kim who says the star “has zero desire to resume her old life”.
“Kim is still figuring out what she wants to do,” the insider said. “She has no plans for any public appearances.”
Kim is set to turn 36 on Friday, and according to The Sun Kanye West has cancelled a lavish, 1920s-themed birthday party he had planned to throw for her. He has reportedly bought her a pair of ruby drop earrings from designer Lorraine Schwartz, worth $50,000 – the same designer of her engagement ring that’s believed to be among the jewellery stolen from Kim in Paris.
Kim has completely retreated from public life since the incident and has remained radio silent on all her social media platforms, meanwhile filming of Keeping Up With The Kardashians has been put on hold indefinitely.
