Katy Perry’s new single Swish Swish has been widely interpreted as her response to Taylor Swift’s Bad Blood.

And on Friday night, Jimmy Fallon got to ask Katy the million-dollar question when she appeared as a guest on The Tonight Show.

“Swish Swish—is that about anybody we know?” he asked Perry.

“I think it’s a great anthem for people to use whenever somebody’s trying to hold you down or bully you,” she said, widening her eyes at Fallon.

“That’s kinda what this record is about, it’s just like 360-degree liberation,” she said, referring to her upcoming album Witness.

Chained to the Rhythm was this political liberation, Bon Appétit was a sexual liberation and now, I think Swish represents the liberation from all the negative that doesn’t serve you.”

Ruby Rose certainly thinks the song is about Taylor – she savaged the track and Perry in a series of brutal tweets shortly after its release.

Looking at the lyrics of Swish Swish, it’s easy to interpret it as a Taylor diss track.

Take a look at the first verse:

A tiger
Don’t lose no sleep
Don’t need opinions
From a shellfish or a sheep
Don’t you come for me
No, not today
You’re calculated
I got your number
‘Cause you’re a joker
And I’m a courtside killer queen
And you will kiss the ring
You best believe

The tiger is likely a reference to Perry herself, given her single Roar, and the ‘sheep’ could be in reference to the shady tweet Katy sent in 2015 which she later confirmed was about Taylor “Watch out for the Regina George in sheep’s clothing.”

Taylor vs Katy: it’s the celebrity feud that just keeps on giving.
