Since officially returning to her signature shade of brunette, it appears Katy Perry has also undergone somewhat of a style transformation.

In recent months, the singer has been favouring sexy, skintight fits, including corsets, leather dresses and chainmail by the likes of Vivienne Westwood, Mugler and vintage Jean Paul Gaultier. Though she’s always dressed well, this is the first time in years she’s had us feverishly Googling to get our hands on the same designs she’s sporting—much like we do for most of what Dua Lipa and Bella Hadid wear. A warm welcome to Perry and a sad goodbye to our savings account.

Perry’s trip to New York City over the weekend was no exception. For an appearance on Saturday Night Live—her first since 2017—the singer opted for a cut-out Mugler blazer with sheer detailing down the front and matching skintight trousers. Accessories-wise, Perry wore a pair of pointed black stilettos and silver chain-link drop earrings. Her red lips popped against the otherwise dark hues.

Following the show, Perry was papped out in the city wearing yet another show-stopping look. This time, the singer was dressed in red leather pants and a matching top by Louis Vuitton with a black shaggy coat thrown over the top. Seriously, this whole thing is chef’s kiss.

Though her back to black hair transformation might have something to do with Perry’s changing wardrobe, so too does the addition of her new stylist Tatiana Waterford, who’s been working with Perry for the past year. Waterford, who styles Suki Waterhouse, thankfully also posts Perry’s best ‘fits to her ‘gram, including tagging the vintage stores and designers she’s sourced from along the way. Brb, off to spend.
