There’s a rumour Katy Perry and Taylor Swift are about to end their long-running feud, and the theory actually does have some legs.

TMZ posted footage of Taylor filming the music video for her song End Game in Miami this week, and the clip shows Taylor dancing on a boat with a group of back-up dancers.

Some are convinced one of the back-up dancers is a dead ringer for Katy Perry – see the one with the bleach-blonde pixie crop?

Interestingly, Katy has been in Miami this week performing her Witness tour. What are the chances they’d be in the same city at the same time as a Katy look-alike is spotted at Taylor’s music video shoot?

You might remember that Taylor and Katy’s feud began after fight over backup dancers: Taylor claims Katy stole some of her back-up dancers from her tour as a way to try to sabotage her (Katy maintains the dancers had worked for her before and had always planned to return to her).

Making fun of their feud by playing it out in a music video, with Katy playing one of Taylor’s back-up dancers, would be the perfect way to end it and clear the air.

The End Game lyrics do seem to be inspired by Taylor’s feud with someone (let’s not forget she’s had a few).

She sings:

“Big reputation, big reputation
Ooh, you and me, we got big reputations, ah
And you heard about me, oh
I got some big enemies”

Also:

“And you understand the good and bad end up in the song
For all your beautiful traits and the way you do it with ease
For all my flaws, paranoia, and insecurities
I’ve made mistakes and made some choices, that’s hard to deny
After the storm, something was born on the 4th of July”

For the record, Katy has made it clear she’d like to end the feud with Taylor.

Appearing on Carpool Karaoke with James Corden this year, she explained:

“There’s a situation and she started it, and it’s time for her to finish it.

“Yeah, it’s about backing dancers. It’s so crazy,” Perry said.

“So there’s three backing dancers on her tour and they asked me before they went on her tour if they could go, and I said ‘of course, I’m not on a record cycle right now … but I will be in probably about a year. So put a 30-day contingency in your contract so you can get out if you want to join me when I go back.”

Katy said that when the dancers did that, they were fired by Taylor.

“I tried to talk to her about it and she wouldn’t speak to me … it was a full shutdown and then she writes a song about me, and I’m like, okay, cool, cool, cool, that’s how you want to deal with it? Karma!”

The Chained To The Rhythm singer said she would be happy for the feud to be over, although hinted she may forgive but not forget.

“But what I want to say is that I’m ready for that BS to be done.

“I think personally that women together, not divided, and none of this petty bullsh*t, women together will heal the world.”

Maybe Taylor was listening after all. Watch this space.
