Kate Middleton made her highly-awaited return to public duties amid her ongoing health struggles to an eager crowd of royalists flocking The Mall at this year’s Trooping The Colour. The Princess of Wales, dressed in a previously worn white Jenny Packman dress, was the acme of resilience as she stood on the Buckingham Palace balcony alongside King Charles III, her husband Prince Willliam and their three children, Prince George, 10, Princess Charlotte, 9 and Prince Louis, 6.
But with the surprise outing reaffirming Middleton’s commitment to service after “turning a corner” with her treatment, reports have alleged her return to work roadmap is anything but linear. After attending the flyover celebration on June 15, Middleton did not take part in any subsequent fêtes, including the five-day long Royal Ascot racing carnival and Garter Day at Windsor Castle.
According to these sources, Middleton does not plan on participating in royal events for the foreseeable future. Instead, the former Duchess of Cambridge “now plans to spend time with her children and work from home as she continues with her recovery”.

As per The Sun, Middleton plans “to hold more meetings in the coming weeks, including palace staff as well as members of The Royal Foundation and Centre for Early Childhood,” with public briefings only provided when deemed “appropriate”.This echoes the sentiment Middleton circulated in her recent health update.
Middleton released a personal statement in the days leading up to the monarch’s birthday celebration, detailing her experience with “good days” and “bad days” as she works through her return to health. “I am making good progress, but as anyone going through chemotherapy will know, there are good days and bad days,” the 42-year-old began.
“On those bad days you feel weak, tired and you have to give in to your body resting. But on the good days, when you feel stronger, you want to make the most of feeling well.” She then added that the treatment is going well, but confirmed it will be ongoing for the next few months.
“On the days I feel well enough, it is a joy to engage with school life, spend personal time on the things that give me energy and positivity, as well as starting to do a little work from home,” she said. Middleton also confirmed she hopes “to join a few public engagements over the summer, but equally [knows] I am not out of the woods yet.”
“I am learning how to be patient, especially with uncertainty. Taking each day as it comes, listening to my body, and allowing myself to take this much needed time to heal.”
