In some good news from across the pond, Kate Middleton has stepped out for her first public engagement since she revealed she had completed chemotherapy. Looking better than ever, the Princess of Wales and her husband, Prince William, invited 16-year-old photographer and advocate Liz Hatton and her family to Windsor Castle to support Hatton during an ongoing cancer battle.
“A pleasure to meet with Liz at Windsor today,” they wrote in an Instagram caption alongside some photos. “A talented young photographer whose creativity and strength have inspired us both. Thank you for sharing your photos and story with us. ❤️ W&C.”

For the casual occasion, Middleton wore a fitted burgundy pantsuit with a beige bodysuit underneath. She wore her signature brown hair styled down in soft curls and opted for a smokey-eye look.

In early September, Middleton announced that she was officially cancer-free following chemotherapy treatments for an undisclosed form of cancer with a video shared with the public. With her family alongside her, the royal asserted that she would still take her time to return to business as usual in the clip. “Although I have finished chemotherapy, my path to healing and full recovery is long, and I must continue to take each day as it comes,” she said, admitting that she was “looking forward to being back at work and undertaking a few more public engagements in the coming months when I can.”
In March 2024, Middleton shocked the world when, after a few months of being noticeably absent from public events, she revealed that she had been diagnosed with cancer and would begin chemotherapy following complications from an abdominal surgery earlier in the year.
In an emotional video, she praised her family for their immense support and assured fans that she was “getting stronger every day” and working with an incredible team to get back to full health.
Buckingham Palace has already (tentatively) confirmed that she will attend the upcoming Remembrance Sunday ceremony in November and the annual Christmas carol concert at Westminster Abbey in December, so this is hopefully the first of many more appearances from the princess.
