Kanye West’s eccentric, nonsensical tweets are undoubtedly one of the best things about Twitter, but don’t expect to see any new updates for a while.
Kanye suddenly deleted both his Twitter and Instagram accounts late on Friday, with the pages now simply reading “Sorry, that page doesn’t exist!”
It’s not known why Yeezy has gone on a social media hiatus, but it’s unusual timing given he and Kim Kardashian are launching their children’s wear line this weekend.
Kanye was also noticeably absent from the Met Gala this week, leaving Kim to walk the red carpet and pose for selfies with sisters Kylie and Kendall. At the event, Kim told reporters that her husband was “taking some time off and really loving that.”
The rapper was hospitalized for exhaustion and dehydration last year, weeks after Kim was held up at gun point in Paris. It’s possible he’s taking a leaf out of sister-in-law Kendall’s book and going off social media to rest and recharge for a while.
