For the past year, since Kanye West and Kim Kardashian announced their divorce, the rapper has made his feelings clear: he wants to work things out and get his family back together.

It doesn’t appear, however, his ex-wife feels the same way. Earlier this week, Kardashian opened up about the empowerment of being alone and doing things on her own terms, telling Vogue US, For so long, I did what made other people happy. And I think in the last two years I decided, I’m going to make myself happy. And that feels really good.”

“And even if that created changes and caused my divorce, I think it’s important to be honest with yourself about what really makes you happy. I’ve chosen myself. I think it’s okay to choose you,” she continued.

Kardashian added her focus for her new decade: wellness, her children and focusing less on social media. “My 40s are about being Team Me. I’m going to eat well. I’m going to work out. I’m going to have more fun, spend more time with my kids and the people who make me happy,” she said. “I’m going to put my phone down. Unfollow if I don’t want to see something on Instagram.”

The interview was accompanied by a shoot, which included Kardashian and West’s children—North, 8, Saint, 6, Chicago, 4, and Psalm, 2–playing at home. Following the images’ release, West reposted a collage of them to his Instagram, asking God to “bring our  family back together.”

West’s comments come as he’s dating Uncut Gems actress Julia Fox, who has been open about understanding her boyfriend’s state of mind when it comes to his family and ex-wife. On a recent podcast appearance on Call her Daddy, Fox said it makes sense for West to have  “residual feelings” for Kardashian, who he was with for nearly seven years.

“I’m sure there’s still some residual feelings, and that’s normal, it’s human,” Fox said, adding, “I also know that he’s with me now. And that’s all that matters.” She later spoke about being compared to Kardashian, saying, “We’ve worn some similar looks… It is unfortunate, because women are always being pitted against each other, and there are 10 years of history that they have prior. I don’t want to ever step out of line and speak on something that I have no place speaking on.”
