Kanye West’s appearance on The Ellen Show on Thursday was reminiscent of the now infamous time he interrupted Taylor Swift’s Grammys speech in 2009.

Rather than letting DeGeneres lead the conversation as is the norm on the long-running talk show, the rapper turned the interview into an eight-minute monologue, while host DeGeneres was forced to sit back and let The Kanye Show unfold.

Mr Kim Kardashian made a stream-of-consciousness speech that jumped erratically from one point to the next, touching on Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg, his desire to change the world and racism. While it was certainly an arrogant move to take the reigns from Ellen, his diatribe was undeniably passionate and revealing.

Possibly the most interesting thing Yeezy said is that he approached Payless to work on a shoe line (assumedly an affordable one) because he wants to stop bullying.

“I remember going to school in fifth grade and wanting to have a cool outfit. I called the head of Payless and I said ‘I want to work with you, I want to take all this information that I’ve learned from sitting at all these fashion shows and knocking down all these doors and buying all these expensive clothes and I want to take away bullying.’”

Kanye’s motives are certainly well-intentioned, although it’s naïve to assume the problem of bullying could be solved if everyonejust had stylish kicks.

These are the top five peak Kanye moments:

1. “I feel that if I had more resources, I could help more people. I have ideas that could make the human race existence within our 100 years better—period.”
2. “Picasso is dead. Steve Jobs is dead. Walt Disney is dead. Name somebody living that you can name in the same breath as them.”
3. “We got 100 years here. We’re one race – the human race – one civilization. We’re a blip in the existence in the universe and we’re constantly trying to pull each other down. I feel I can make a difference while I’m here.”
4. “Everything that I sonically make is a painting. I see it. I see the importance. I see the importance and the value of everyone being able to experience a more beautiful life.”
5. “I’m sorry daytime television. I’m sorry for the realness.”

Incredibly, Ellen did not take the opportunity to interrupt Kanye mid-diatribe and deliver the line “I’mma let you finish…”
