Behold: Justin Bieber gushing over his adoring wife, Hailey Bieber. Following the release of his sixth studio album on Friday, Justice, the bonafide pop sensation appeared on SiriusXM Hits 1 on 1 to reflect on self-care and the impact his marriage to Hailey has had.
“I think boundaries for me have been so pivotal in my growth as a human,” he told host Nicole Ryan on his self-care. “And just [realising that] my ‘Noes’ [are] just as powerful as my ‘Yeses’ and knowing when to say ‘No’ to certain things has been so helpful in my growth.”
“[For example, being able to say], ‘Hey, I’m going to turn off at this time … I’m not gonna make certain decisions past 6 p.m. I’m just going to spend time with my wife,’ [has been great], whether it’s watching movies or whatever that looks like.”
Bieber has had an unusual childhood through navigating global fame at a very young age and living with a tumultuous relationship with his mother, Pattie Mallette and father, Jeremy Bieber. This has been revealed through the online doco-series, Justin Bieber: Seasons.
He told radio show that through “reliability” with his wife he now has a solid family life.
“Prioritising my family [has been helpful] … I never had a consistent family life,” Bieber admitted. “It was kind of all over the place growing up. So, finally having that predictability and reliability [with my wife Hailey], someone who I love and trust, has been so monumental.”
Hailey appeared on the cover of ELLE last week and said that the couple’s marriage doesn’t come without its challenges.
“In the beginning of our marriage, I just wanted to hide. I was like, ‘I don’t want people so in my business. I feel like everybody’s up my a**,’” she told the publication. “I was like, ‘Can there be no anonymity? Can I have any of it back?’”
Bieber’s latest album, Justice, is out now.
