Justin Bieber has finally opened up about why he abruptly cancelled the remaining dates of his Purpose tour last month – and some big plans for the future.

In a note to his fans posted on Instagram, Justin explained why he had to end the tour, and also revealed his desire to get married and have children.

“Me taking this time right now is me saying I want to be SUSTAINABLE,” Bieber explained.

“I want my career to be sustainable, but I also want my mind heart and soul to be sustainable. So that I can be the man I want to be, the husband I eventually want to be and the father I want to be.”

Justin also seemed to try to explain that some of his bad behaviour in the past was the result of struggling with some “broken relationships”.

“I let my broken relationships dictate the way I acted toward people and the way I treated them! I let bitterness, jealously and fear run my life.!!!!”

“I am extremely blessed to have people in the past few years help me build my character back up reminding me of who I am and who I want to be!!!”

While some fans are undoubtedly disappointed that they didn’t get to see Justin on the Purpose tour, some in the music industry have been supportive of his decision to can the remaining dates.

John Mayer tweeted that Justin must have really been struggling with his mental or physical health to make the difficult decision to not let the show go on.

“When someone pulls remaining dates of a tour, it means they would have done real damage to themselves if they kept going,” Mayer tweeted on Tuesday.

“We’ve lost so many great artists lately. I give Justin [two thumbs up] for realising it was time to call it. You should too.”
