You can be forgiven for feeling like you have a fraught relationship with Bradley Cooper. To look back on the award season that was – and the intense fanfare that followed Cooper’s film A Star Is Born – it’s hard not to feel a little jipped. Were all the red carpet smiles and kisses between the actor-cum-director and his model girlfriend Irina Shayk a lie? It’s looking that way.
After officially calling the end to their four-year relationship just three days ago, the notoriously private couple have been reportedly “amicably working out” how to share custody of their two-year-old daughter Lea de Seine. They spent their final days together wrapping up this state of affairs.
Rumours swirled for ages that the relationship was done and the pair were “miserable”. In the end, “after the lust wore off, they had very little in common” a source told Page Six.
“They never shopped for their own house in California. It was just his house. There were no moves in that direction,” the source added. “Then there’s the fact that they never got married after they had a kid. She was certain that would happen. It felt like they weren’t truly making a life together outside of the child.”
Some reports have said it was Shayk who called it quits due to Cooper’s lack of commitment. Cooper doesn’t drink and Shayk always wants to go out, other reports cited. You can read more on this here.
If you look back though at the last few days of their relationship though, it was a sad state of affairs. On Thursday, Shayk was photographed wearing a tan jumpsuit carrying a suitcase and leaving her home in Los Angeles. The news was about to break. Where she was off to, no one knew.
