Kanye West and Julia Fox’s surprise appearance at Paris Fashion Week has all but stolen the show. The new couple made their debut on Sunday in matching double denim looks to sit front row at Kenzo before they stepped out on Monday once again in matching ensembles. This time leather.
For Schiaparelli’s Haute Couture Spring/Summer 2022 show, Fox, who was wearing a statement jacket by the Italian fashion house yesterday, wore Schiaparelli once again, opting for a peplum leather jacket with a cone corset, which she wore with thigh-high leather boots and gloves.
Like her first fashion week outfit, this one too emulated the iconic Jean Paul Gaultier cone corset Madonna wore on her Who’s That Girl tour in 1987. Of course, just last week Fox was out for dinner with Madonna herself and is widely rumoured to have been cast in a lead role in the musician’s upcoming biopic. (We can barely keep up with all the meta moments coming direct from this coordinating couple).
Similar to her beauty look yesterday, Fox wore statement overdrawn eyeliner with her brunette hair pushed back off her face, while gold earrings and a gold handbag added some colour to her fit. Meanwhile, her boyfriend (?) wore top-to-toe Balenciaga, of course, including a face balaclava similar to the one his ex-wife Kim Kardashian wore on the Met Gala red carpet. Over in Calabasas, or in the sky rather, Kardashian is making her own statement—or peace signal—by wearing Yeezys on her new private jet.
This week, Fox, who’s been incredibly candid about her and West’s whirlwind relationship thus far, shot down claims she was dating the rapper for money or fame. “It’s funny cause I’m getting all of this attention, but I really couldn’t care,” she said on the new episode of her podcast, Forbidden Fruits. “People are like ‘Oh, you’re only in it for the fame, you’re in it for the clout, you’re in it for the money.’ Honey, I’ve dated billionaires my entire adult life, let’s keep it real.”
The actress also previously denied her relationship with West is a PR stunt, saying on an earlier pod episode, “There’s always people that think that like every single celebrity scandal is a setup. I personally don’t.” She also said she and West, who have both recently gone through breakups, “make each other feel better.”
“It’s really, like, such a Gemini-Aquarius-like connection,” she added. Stylish star signs take PFW. We love to see it.
