Tourism Australia got us good. During yesterday’s Super Bowl game, what appeared to be a trailer for a new Dundee film aired. Instead, it was an ad and all part of $38 million campaign push to entice Americans to visit Australia.

The fake trailer featured Chris and Liam Hemsworth, Margot Robbie, Russell Crowe, Hugh Jackman, Ruby Rose, Isla Fisher, Dundee OG Paul Hogan and Danny McBride (who played Dundee’s long lost son, Brian).

A petition was started by outraged film-goers who are collecting signatures to see a Dundee reboot go ahead. Hogan appeared on The Today Show this morning citing despite the first two Dundee films attracting over one billion dollars in revenue, the third film was admittedly a flop and he thinks a fourth could share the same fate. But Hollywood heavyweight director Judd Apatow (The 40-Year-Old Virgin, Knocked Up) disagrees. “It can still happen. Dundee came to America. Now he has a kid he didn’t know about. What day do I start shooting?” Apatow wrote on Twitter.

Apatow actually has worked with McBride in the past on 2008’s Pineapple Express.
