Jennifer Lopez’s relationship with Ben Affleck isn’t the only thing giving us major early aughts vibes. So too is the singer’s most recent date night look: a full double denim outfit reminiscent of the style you’d see her in 20 years ago— coincidentally, back when she was dating Ben Affleck for the first time.
Of course, it’s not just Lopez who’s embracing ‘90s and Y2K-era fashion at the moment. So too are the likes of Bella Hadid, Dua Lipa and pretty much every Gen Zer on TikTok. The difference is, Lopez was at the very forefront of the trend the first time round, with her Jenny from the Block low-rise, tummy-baring, double-denim wearing-era inspiring the wardrobes of millions.
Fast-forward to now and Lopez is once again championing baggy jeans, crop tops and mini skirts, as well as the Canadian tuxedo. For a night courtside at the Lakers with her beau, J Lo wore jeans, a matching denim jacket, heeled black boots and her signature hoop earrings with her hair in its signature loose waves. A monogrammed Coach bag could be seen beside her seat.
Affleck complimented Lopez in jeans and a black hoodie. He wrapped an arm around her during the game, clearly unafraid of showing PDA. The pair’s outing comes shortly after the actor opened up to WSJ Magazine about how they rekindled their romance, too.
“I can say that it’s definitely beautiful to me,” Affleck began, while speaking about reconnecting with his former fiancè. “And, you know, one of the things I really value across all facets of my life now is that it was handled in a way that reflected that. My life now reflects not just the person that I want to be, but the person that I really feel like I am—which is not perfect, but somebody who tries very hard and cares very much about being honest and authentic and accountable.”
He continued, “It’s hard to say who benefits more, without going into gossipy detail. I could just say that I feel great about being very healthy. And it is a good story. It’s a great story. And, you know, maybe one day I’ll tell it. I’ll write it all out… And then I’ll light it on fire.”
