Jennifer Lopez is the first to admit that her body looks better at 51 than it did at 30. For one, we can imagine it comes down to her incredible work ethic. And something also tells me that #SelfCareSunday for the artist and actress involves a little more than nursing a hangover from the night before. On Instagram this week Lopez proved exactly why self care is a must in her weekly routine.
The “In The Morning” singer posted a selfie to her 144 million followers on social media in a super high-cut, white swimsuit with a plunging neckline. The caption read, “#SelfcareSunday.” In the post she references her two-month-old namesake beauty brand.
Lopez is currently in the Dominican Republic filming romantic comedy, Shotgun Wedding. But even amid production, we expect the artist takes her wellness regime seriously. And according to past reports, her practices are quite simple – albeit tough for the everyday person.
US Weekly reports that Lopez rarely misses a workout and eats super clean (as expected). Trainer Dodd Romero says she “stays away from processed foods and gets her nutrients from whole sources.” Trainer Tracey Anderson echoed this comments to People: “Everything is fresh. There’s nothing processed–just [protein powder] in a shake if we do a protein shake one day.”
As for her killer workout routine?
According to O, the Oprah Magazine, a core workout usually includes at least a set of 50 hanging ab raises, 50 rope crunches, and 50 incline sit ups with a 45-pound plate.
It should also be noted that Jenny from the Block has never had cosmetic surgery according to a recent comment she made on social media. Lopez finds value in taking care of her mental health and relationships. In January, the 51-year-old revealed she and husband Alex Rodriguez had undergone couple’s therapy.
“We got to work on ourselves,” Lopez said in an interview. “We did therapy. I think it was really helpful for us in our relationship.”
It’s a holistic approach for JLo.
