Jennifer Lopez, like the rest of us, is seemingly enamoured by the Noughties. The star recently took to the stage to honour her friend and collaborator LL Cool J – who was being inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame – by performing their 2002 hit All I Have.
Fittingly, Lopez opted for a Y2K-esque ensemble, replete with oversized blue nylon jacket, dazzling diamonds and bouncy side pigtails – a throwback style that the singer has been reviving in recent months (alongside vintage boyfriend Ben Affleck, of course).
But it was her electric blue manicure that caught our attention, which matched her jacket and looked like a nail design that the Shades of Blue star would’ve worn throughout the ‘millennium’ era.
At first glance, it looks like the blue nails are one solid shade to match Lopez’s blue coat, but as her go-to nail technician Tom Bachik revealed on Instagram, there was actually a lot of more detail to the nail art when viewed up close.
Flecks and swirls of glitter sparkle throughout the design, which was showcased on a set of squoval (square + oval = squoval) nails. As Bachik revealed to Allure, he used Mithmillo’s glitter nail gel in the shade Cobalt Blue to achieve the shimmering finish.
