UK Tabloids are in overdrive at the moment searching for any skerrick of any piece of information about the inside happenings of the Royal Wedding. Yesterday, we got an insight into what Meghan Markle said during her wedding speech. Today, straight from the horse’s mouth comes James Corden and his recount of his experience.

The Late Late Show host cited his allergy to flowers – or pollen – and said he spent the entire ceremony trying not to sneeze. “It was Britain at its finest. It was a picture-perfect day. Windsor Castle at its best. 600 guests. 30,000 flowers or as Elton John calls it, a Thursday,” Corden quipped. “He performed some songs in the afternoon, it was beautiful. George Clooney was there so congratulations Meghan and Harry on your brand new Nespresso machine.”

“The worst part of the ceremony for me was there were flowers everywhere, the most beautiful flowers you’ve ever seen, and I get quite bad allergies if I’m in such close proximity to flowers. So, for a lot of the ceremony, I just needed to sneeze,” said Corden. “”Right at the point when the archbishop was saying, ‘If anyone knows of any reason…’ and I was like, ‘Please don’t sneeze. Please don’t sneeze,” he explained, through laughter. “I had to do one of those internal sneezes…I think I got away with it.”

Watch it now. It’s funnier told by him.

“It was such an inclusive ceremony. I was proud to be British on that day,” he continued. “It was a modern, forward-thinking couple having the exact ceremony that they wanted and they brought Britain and the world together for a happy occasion and I was so pleased to be there.”
