In years gone by Paris Haute Couture week has sat on the fringe of fashion following. It was reported on and admired but ultimately, particularly during the rise and rise of ready-to-wear, it left even the most stylish head-scratching for the meaning. More characteristic of an exhibition at a modern art gallery than a traditional runway show, Haute Couture Week is to fashion what the Met Gala is to awards season. A time for designers and revellers alike to dismiss the rules and celebrate fashion in its most artistic and spectacular form. Designers have the opportunity to send a message, evoke high emotion and act on their wildest dreams, outside of seasonal commercial collections.

As this Fall Winter ’18/’19 celebration wildly gathers momentum among celebrities, stylists and Instagrammers the streets outside have become almost as much of a sensation as the presentations themselves. Beginning on Monday, this year’s high fashion affair has already saturated us with trends of the most fabulous kind. From understated-chic Kaia Gerber in Saint Laurent to fairytale-fabulous Mandy Moore in Ralph & Russo to 80s-bold Alessandra Ambrosio in Dundas we’re watching this week’s A-list (and A-grade!) styling unfold with a romantic whimsy saved only for the ultimate triple threat:

Paris. Summertime. Couture.

Here is the best of the best so far…
