As the formalities of Mercedes Benz Fashion Week wrapped on Thursday last week, it was finally time to party. Kicking off the ‘Weekend Edition’ of fashion’s week of weeks, official jewellery partner, Swarovski, hosted a jaw-dropping, crystal-dripping opening night event.

Transforming one of the famed industrial hangers of Sydney’s Carriageworks into a glittering, magical wonderland, the label known for creating some of the world’s most spectacular accoutrement, launched its fall/winter collection. This season, the theme centred around ‘Magic Light’, a namesake that draws upon the mystical, the spiritual and the astrological – represented within both the setting of the evening and the fantastical new range.

The event drew some of Sydney’s most exciting fashion faces, as well as celebrities, designers and musicians. Flight Facilities and Flex Mami provided stellar entertainment as guests sampled canapés and refreshments from Tempus Two, Vittoria, Peroni and San Pellegrino…all the while perusing the new, awe-inspiring collection of jewellery, watches and accessories.

Swarovski is a ground-breaking label, having collaborated with some of the world’s most formidable fashion houses (Christian Dior, Christopher Kane), major businesses (Mercedes, Victoria’s Secret) and A-list celebrities (Penelope Cruz most recently on the red carpet in Cannes). Each season they set a tone for decor trend and this year, through their reputable craftsmanship and the universally fascinating ideal of astrological signs and meanings, they’re celebrating individualism. With layered pendants, cocktail rings and delicately designed fine jewels Swarovski’s ‘Magic Light’ aims to give a particularly personal meaning to anyone stepping into its covetable glow.
