Amongst a sea of ‘70s silhouettes and rustic tones, individualism was the common trend at Bianca Spender.
M.A.C Cosmetics Senior Artist, Carol Mackie, worked closely with the creative team and attended fittings to achieve this super-stylised, individual look, “It’s almost like a couture show in that we’ve looked at each garment and we have a particular makeup design for each of the models… they’ve got their own colour.”
Whilst the makeup does tie back into the clothes, they are by no means the same in colour, but instead complimentary, “There are maybe two looks that have the same colour as what they’re wearing, but most of them are complimentary to the clothing.”
On the face:
“We’ve used a mixture of Face & Body Foundation and Studio Fix Fluid mixed together. It’s about a 30% Studio Fix Fluid and 70% Face & Body Foundation. Mix those together, and we’ve prepped the skin beforehand with Softening Lotion, Fix Plus and Care Blend Essential Oil. We massage that in first, and then we’ve got this veil. Just before they go on we’ll use Studio Fix Powder Foundation.”
On the lids:
“There are four different tones that we’ve mixed together formed with a product called Lip Mix. So we’ve got orange, yellow, mid-ton brown, nude. We’ve mixed those colours together to create four colour ways: mustard, terracotta, tobacco and burnt orange… The eyes will have a tiny bit of moisture on them.
On the lips:
“We use the stain of the Lip Mix on the eyes (only), and a different stain on the lips. The lips will be powdered quite matte too.”
