In the last few years Tracee Ellis Ross has emerged as one of the world’s most stylish women, topping countless ‘Best-Dressed’ lists with her eclectic red carpet style. It’s no surprise then that she was among the first celebrities Loewe tapped to wear their spring summer ’21 collection. Debuted via an artsy DIY book (as opposed to the traditional runway show) late last month, the collection featured Jonathan Anderson’s signature marriage of elevated craftiness and compelling silhouettes.
Ross wore a suit from the new collection, featuring dramatic balloon leg details, for an upcoming appearance on Jimmy Kimmel to promote the seventh season of her hugely successful comedy series Black-ish. “V O L U M E,” she wrote in the accompanying caption. “Thank you Loewe for this glorious and sublime tux.”
Ross’ love for Jonathan Anderson is well-documented. In 2019, she wore Loewe to attend the British Fashion Awards and JW Anderson to attend the premiere of Queen and Slim. The brand’s bold aesthetic fits neatly into Ross’ wardrobe MO, which heroes bold colours, voluminous shapes and clever suiting.
Ross’ wardrobe (as well as her generally delightful Instagram presence) have offered moments of reprieve during the dreary last six months. Her feed has been filled with everything from intoxicating at-home dance videos to truly glorious virtual red carpet appearances—like the Alexandre Vauthier gold ruffled gown she wore to attend the Emmys. With a slow, staggered return to normalcy starting to unfold, among the many things we can look forward to is far more TER.
