Iggy Azalea has hit back at Halsey after the American singer slammed her in an interview, calling her a “f*cking moron” and claiming her “career dissolved”.
In an interview on Nova, Iggy took a line from the notoriously salty Mariah Carey, saying she was surprised by Halsey’s comments since she doesn’t know the Color singer.
“It’s kind of like if we were talking right now and I just randomly started talking about Janet Jackson or something,” Iggy said.
“To me, because I’m a famous person and I know a lot of the time people have opinions and they’re not always accurate, I really try very hard not to give my personal opinions about people that I don’t know.
“I don’t know her. I’ve never met her.”
Mariah Carey famously offered the same line when asked about her alleged feud with Jlo, which spawned one of the internet’s most popular memes.

After throwing shade Mariah-style, Iggy used another subtly salty technique, offering sympathy and some advice to young Halsey (she’s five years younger than Iggy).
“She’s young and I hope she learns maybe to be a bit less judgmental when she’s kind of in the same shoes.
“I’m sure she’s getting judged all the time as well by people who don’t really know her. Maybe it’d be good for her to try to be a little more empathetic to other people that are in the same situation… I don’t really think I had anything to do with it.”
This all started last week when Halsey gave an interview to the Guardian.
“There’s a lot of people I wouldn’t put on my record,” the Gasoline singer said.
“Iggy Azalea: absolutely not. She had a complete disregard for black culture. F*cking moron. I watched her career dissolve and it fascinated me.”
Let’s keep in mind both women have new albums to promote – Halsey’s Hopeless Fountain Kingdom was released this month, and the Australian rapper’s Digital Distortion is due to drop on June 30 – so call us cynical, but they might not be hating the attention this generates if it results in album sales.
