Saturday Night Live comedian Pete Davidson flew from New York to California to take Kaia Gerber to dinner at upscale restaurant Nobu in Malibu. The comic was seen driving the 18-year-old model home – in a AUD $181K Mercedes G Wagon no less – presumably to her house she still shares with parents Cindy Crawford and Rande Gerber.

The pair were spotted leaving Gerber’s NYC apartment last month, a shock to a few since Davidson had only recently called time on his relationship with Kate Beckinsale and was spotted with actor Margaret Qualley in Venice, Italy, in September.

Backgrid.

“All of these women he has been with approached him. It’s not even that he has a type,” an “insider” told The Daily Mail. “With Ariana [Grande], she reached out to him. She asked her manager, Scooter Braun, to set them up. With Kate Beckinsale, she went over to him at the Netflix after-party at the Golden Globes and started flirting with him. And even now they’re on good terms. You wouldn’t think it, but he has impeccable manners and is so polite. I think, honestly, that’s part of the reason women like him. He’s been trying to learn from his past relationships and be more low-key.”

While Gerber claimed to British Vogue just last month that she “didn’t have the energy to even flirt with anyone” – “I have backgammon at my house, and that’s all a girl needs. When I’m home, I’m living the life of a 70-year-old woman” – if a picture could speak a thousand words, then we’d say there is something romantic definitely going on here. Well, a flight across the country probably already says that.

It’s not Davidson’s first time at Nobu in Malibu. He hilariously recalled a time to Vanity Fair when he, Kid Cudy, Timothee Chamalet and Kanye West ate there together – and Davidson was left with the cheque. “[Kanye] kept ordering the whole entire time and I didn’t know he was coming and I already put my card down to pay because I thought it would be just me and Cudi,” said Davidson. “Then, Chalamet showed up and then Kanye showed up and I was like ‘Oh, f***’ and then I had to book two more gigs in Ohio.”

More to come – and probably not in the form of a Beckinsale/Davidson court-side kiss.
