Ooh-la-la. Mademoiselle Jenner arrived at Longchamp’s 70th Anniversary soiree in Paris with some very French-looking hair courtesy of hairstylist, Jen Atkin. The chignon – impeccably glossy and twisted to perfection – made its debut at Opera Garnier as Kendall made the swift swap from New York rain to Parisian sunshine.

Parted down the middle and slicked off the face with ample gel, the bun sat relatively high, twisted and knotted tightly. A sophisticated turn for the young model, it was suitably stylish for the City of Lights and Longchamp’s equally stylish affair at the Parisian Opera.

But, Odile Gilbert and the TRESemmè team did kind of do it first – with Jenner’s Parisian take a riff on the impossibly shiny, oiled-up chignon seen at Naeem Khan Spring / Summer ’19 just days before.

Both signal a return to polish and pizzaz, with the antiquated chignon making a rather surprising comeback in the current ‘lived-in’ hair narrative that persists.

Here, Jen Atkin breaks down the bun, step by step, so you too can chignon at home. Did someone say chic?
