Rogue brogue You’d need to have been living on Mars to not know by now that ‘Millennial Pink’ (which is a cross between pastel and pale candy floss) is the hottest colour in the style universe right now. Contrary to popular belief, its universally flattering, fun withouth being outrageous and non-age specific. Add a tapered block heel and loafer detailing and you’ve got the makings of the most versatile, high fashion heel of the season.

SHORT SHIFT Denim is the new black this season, and one of the hottest new names (no pun intended) in the design space is Neuw, started by three Australian partners several years ago (one of the partners had lived in Nieuwlandstraat in Belgium, which sparked the brand’s Euro-sounding name). Look for a super-light bleached shade and frayed finishing to tick all the right mini-skirt boxes right now.

Edgy enough to carry every day, elegant enough to tranfer to night, it’s just big enough (23cm high, to be precise) for phone, brush, purse and gloss, with serious hardware to off-set its sweet geometric shape.

Bide your time It’s been a long time coming, but sass & bide is back – at Mercedes Benz Australian Fashion Week 2017, that is. The much-loved brand, now creatively helmed by a team of top designers rather than just one (or as per the original set-up, two) creative director and will hold its first local runway show in years this month. The result – the best collection we’ve seen in eons from the brand. This monochromatic viscose-rayon-nylon midi skirt would look as striking with white Converse and a leather moto jacket as stilettos and Balmain blazer. Consider it an investment steeped in nostalgia.
