Crack out the popcorn and make yourself comfortable because this week has serious blockbuster potential! It’s a powder keg of excitement early on when the solar systems spiciest planets–Mars and Plutos–come to blows (Monday AEST and GMT). Expect fireworks and the kind of “no-turning-back” developments that could initiate major change in your life–especially for Aries, Cancer, Libra and Capricorn rising. Simultaneously, Venus and Saturn ask you to mix business and pleasure, highlighting your need for more balance.

With Pluto screeching to a halt (11 Oct GMT and AEST), stay alert for shock confessions or massive power moves in the news. No sooner have we regained composure than eclipse season arrives, (14 Oct GMT, 15 Oct AEST) forcing you to let go in order to move on.

Hot tip: I always recommend you read your rising sign for the most resonant advice. If you don’t know it, you can work it out by casting your chart here. Want to learn more? ARIES AND ARIES RISING

How much are you really in control? That’s the big question that resurfaces again and again this week as big Pluto weather challenges you to take a stand. The power dynamic is especially noticeable around your work and how your relate to your managers and mentors. With the weekend’s eclipse (15 October AEST; 14 October GMT) heralding change, you’ll need to dig deep into that Aries courage to loosen your grip and trust that whatever is ending, is meant to be wrapping up.

TAURUS AND TAURUS RISING

Look out for the sneak preview on Monday, when you’ll get a strong hint as to what you’re meant to be letting go this eclipse season. Work politics could set the wheels in motion, as you’re encouraged to take a stand against something (or someone) who doesn’t gel with your beliefs. On Friday (all time zones), Mars brings the fireworks to your closest relationships. Work with the energy by planning something physical – whether that’s a day out bouldering or a weekend in bed, or both) with someone who can keep up with you.

GEMINI AND GEMINI RISING

Walking the line between dreams and reality is the name of the game early in the week, when Saturn and Venus highlight a tug-of-war between what is, and what could be. The weather is especially focussed on home and work as you’re forced to assess whether you’re enjoying the spoils of the hustle. You may not be completely in control of your workflow, but you can control where you work. Later in the week, big Pluto coincides with a big moment of truth around cash – especially if you’re in a couple.

CANCER AND CANCER RISING

It’s all happening this week with Pluto and the eclipses posing some Big Life Questions for either you, or someone very close to home. With the Mars getting the ball rolling (9 Oct GMT), there’s a now-or-never sort of feel to proceedings. As much as it might feel like the developments are final, take comfort in knowing that whatever you’re letting go is just the beginning of a brand-new chapter, set to unfold over the next 18 months.

LEO AND LEO RISING

With the spoils of Venus retrograde finally over, early this week Venus turns her attention to your bank account. With Saturn focussed on how you deal with debt (an ongoing theme over the next couple of years), reining in your spending may be a necessary albeit mundane must-do. By the weekend (15 Oct AEST; 14 Oct GMT), the eclipse sets the wheels in motion for a clean slate with extended family, reminding you that letting go – whether that’s grudges, or relationships themselves – is a necessary part of growing up.

LIBRA AND LIBRA RISING

Drama! Action! Intrigue! This week has got it all especially for Libran folks who get a front row seat to the action. When things feel intense, remind yourself, you’ll reap the rewards of this eclipse cycle more than any other sign. A power struggle, potentially with someone in your fam (before Thursday), could act as a catalyst for major change once the eclipse rolls around on the weekend. The confrontation may offend your delicate sensibilities but sometimes you’ve got to pull out the big guns to make a clean break, and chances are this week is one of those times.

SCORPIO AND SCORPIO RISING

The big revelations are coming in thick and fast this week with both your ruling planets (Mars and Pluto) causing all sorts of mischief from the get-go. Mars kicks things off (literally) on Monday, before moving into your home sign and powering up your energy and confidence over the next few weeks. It’s definitely not dull, but you’ll most likely be more of a witness than a participant in the Pluto/eclipse hoo-hah. Don’t get mad, get comfortable. Sit back, relax and enjoy the show.

SAGITTARIUS AND SAGITTARIUS RISING

Compromise is essential Monday/Tuesday when a tug of war between your daydreams and the demands of adulting have you feeling a bit all over the place. Try not to get drawn into the drama, there is a way to find a happy medium weaving the best of both worlds into your game plan. As the week progresses, a big realisation around money will help come up with a plan for your next best steps. Having it all may not be an option, but cleaning out your dirty laundry will make space for great new things

CAPRICORN AND CAPRICORN RISING

Brace yourself Cappies, this week is going to be a big one! We’re off the races early in the week when your need to strike out on your own and do your own thing vs pandering to the approval of others (especially bosses) becomes a major focus. The scene is set, and after a new development (around Wednesday), you’ll be ready to cut ties with something or someone that’s outstayed their welcome.

AQUARIUS AND AQUARIUS RISING

Are you in the mood for a tidy up? There’s big purge energy, with this week’s skies shining a light on the deepest part of your subconscious. Letting go of your attachment to relationships and situations that require you to compromise, or not show your whole self will be a big theme. After some surprise developments (which could be around how you truly feel), Mars brings in some back-up to help you form a long-term plan around career and cash. On the weekend, a major energetic reset (15 Oct AEST; 14 GMT), signals the beginning of a fresh start.

PISCES AND PISCES RISING

An earthy practicality on Monday (AEST and GMT) helps you to tap into a solution that will help you resolve friction between what your heart wants, and what your Real Life Commitments require. The Big Soul Work continues as the week progresses, with Mars, Pluto AND eclipse clearing out energetic clutter – especially around financial matters. It’s serious but necessary work in order to make room for new growth that’s ready to take root. Trust the process, even if it feels uncomfortable at the time.
