The astro weather is a veritable smorgasbord this week with pragmatism, surrealism and a dash of sauciness on offer. Venus’ shift into Scorpio (5 December AEST; 4 December GMT) signals a less saccharine hue to matters of the heart…but that isn’t necessarily a bad thing. Pay attention to random pings and prophetic dreams, especially around Tuesday/Wednesday/ Thursday when Neptune stations direct– there’s undoubtedly a message buried in there. Take notes!

With Mercury now in Capricorn, a dash of earthy pragmatism helps make communication and negotiations a bit more matter of fact. Friday looks especially good for tapping into that energy and closing a deal, or making something out of an unexpected development.

ARIES AND ARIES RISING

How’s your calendar looking? A word of warning- the back end of the week looks a little loose. If you’ve got your office Christmas party or any engagement where you’d be best not to dance on tables, get yourself a handbrake buddy. With Neptune stationing the pull to completely cut loose may be too much to resist.

TAURUS AND TAURUS RISING

As Venus glides into your romantic sphere, it would be remiss not to organise something saucy next weekend. A little bit of embodied pampering (couples massage, hotel stay, etc) could be just what the doctor ordered to rekindle things with your significant other. If you’re single, expect your powers of flirtation to be en pointe. Don’t let it go to waste, reinstall those apps and line someone up for next weekend.

GEMINI AND GEMINI RISING

It’s a hazy crazy shade of David Lynch-stye surrealism in the middle of the week as Neptune turns up the ambiguity. Loads of fun if you’re making avant-garde cinema… not so great for writing a board report. If you can manage it, avoid anything that requires too much double-handling of information or meticulous instructions. On the plus side, if you’ve got your office Christmas party, it could get loose v quickly. Consider yourself warned.

CANCER AND CANCER RISING

There’s a playful, edge to the mood next weekend as Venus and Jupiter face off and bring both embodied optimism and a naughty, saucy vibe. It’s the kind of weather where you might go out for lunch on Saturday afternoon and roll home at midnight… via a strip club. If you’re not in the mood to let loose, be warned your friends definitely will be. Skip the carnage and curl up with a good bottle of red and some online shopping.

LEO AND LEO RISING

There’s a confounding quality to the middle of the week when Neptune’s station could coincide with big questions marks around your cash situation. Keep an eye on your spending and double check receipts, especially if you’re out to dinner – it’s the kind of astro weather where you could end up with the wrong tab. Over the weekend, capitalise on Venus’ zhushy powers and treat your bedroom to a little style refresh.

VIRGO AND VIRGO RISING

Saying what you mean and meaning what you say will be extra tricky in the middle of the week, when Neptune casts its ethereal glow over your closest relationships. Not the best astro weather for reading maps or doing taxes, but pretty awesome for getting out of town, immersing yourself in a new TV show or amping up your meditation practice. Change your sheets, fire up your laptop and go to ground.

LIBRA AND LIBRA RISING

Feeling spendy? It’s not just you, it’s in the sky. With Venus and Jupiter making it rain in both financial corners of your chart, not spending money will be the hardest challenge you’ll face this week. In other news, tackling tricky conversations about cash – especially with your partner – could prove more fruitful than they have in yonks towards the end of the week. Speak up!

SCORPIO AND SCORPIO RISING

It may be Sagittarius season but with Venus officially in your home sign, you’ll be feeling more indulgent than ever. Celebrate the energy shift with some totally OTT treatments next weekend. Lock in a full day at a hotel day spa, book an afternoon at a bath house or lash out on a hydra facial. With Jupiter in your relationship sphere, making it a two-person activity will heighten the joy.

SAGITTARIUS AND SAGITTARIUS RISING

Neptune’s station in the middle of the week could have you feeling unseasonably anti-social (blasphemy in your home season). Pace yourself and prepare for the likelihood you probably won’t have the stamina to hit three events in one night. Towards the end of the week, the stars are extra supportive for talking about money. If you’ve been thinking about a pay rise, bonus or renegotiating how you work, this could be a good moment to broach the subject.

CAPRICORN AND CAPRICORN RISING

You’re bright-eyed and bushy tailed this week with Mercury now in your home sign. As excited as you may be to roll up your sleeves and get on with things, prepare yourself for a momentary slowdown mid-week. Neptune’s station could have you feeling temporarily spacey – and if it doesn’t hit you, then it will probably be noticeable in the people around you. Don’t panic, it’s temporary.

AQUARIUS AND AQUARIUS RISING

There’s a little bit of serendipity headed your way next weekend when Jupiter goes toe-to-toe with Venus in your home and career sectors. That’s good news if you’ve been looking for new digs, or a new job. Hold off sending applications or making offers until Friday when the skies look the most supportive. You might just find yourself the proud new recipient of whatever it is you’ve been chasing…

PISCES AND PISCES RISING

It’s cloudy with a chance of ESP this week as Neptune stations front and centre in your home sign (Wednesday). Expect trippy dreams, thunderbolts of creative inspiration and serendipitous meetings. The downside? It can be hard to make sense of what’s real and what’s not, so lean into the surrealism and prioritise artistic pursuits over life admin – at least until Friday.
