It’s hardly a practical issue faced by recreational surfers, but this mesmerising new short film by luxury fashion house Hermès suggests a novel, yet deliciously high-fashion, solution for keeping salty locks out of your eyes in the ocean: a hand-printed silk headscarf.
Ideally, it should be one that’s colour coordinated to your elegant, long-armed swimsuit, as you stroll down a deserted beach in paradise with your best friend, both carrying long boards under your arms that are finessed with the same scarf prints under their fibreglass that flow behind you in the breeze.
After all, Hermes is all about epic, romantic notions and carrying you away to unexpected and unreal places. In beautiful clothes and accessories, no less. For some time now, the classic French traditional label has proven it has a cool, very cheeky side; those cool leather cuffs and cute homewares are a more than subtle hint.
