HBO has finally announced when fans can expect to see the much anticipated final season of Game Of Thrones.

President of Programming Casey Bloys revealed Game Of Thrones season eight will air in the first half of 2019.

“I’m not going to talk about what to expect [from the final season] although it’s pretty great,” Bloys said at the Television Critics Association’s Summer Press Tour, according to Entertainment Weekly.

“I don’t think we’ve announced a date yet so sometime in 2019 … the first half.”

2018 is the first calendar year since 2011 that no new episodes of Game Of Thrones have aired.

As if that hasn’t been excruciating enough, last year it was revealed season eight will have just six episodes. Past seasons typically had 10, until season seven which dropped down to just seven episodes.

However, there have been reports that some, if not all of the season eight episodes will extend from an hour to 90 minutes in length. For the love of Jon Snow, we hope so.
