Harry Styles had to know that fans would think new track Two Ghosts is about dating Taylor Swift, with the lyrics “Same lips, red. Same eyes, blue.”

Still, the newly solo artist had an awkward response when asked if he wrote the song about Swift in an interview with BBC Radio1’s Nick Grimshaw.

When Styles realised where the host’s line of questioning was going, he shot some panicked glances at someone, presumably his manager off screen.

“I think it’s pretty, like, self-explanatory,” he said.

“I think, y’know, it’s about sometimes things change and you can do all the same things, and sometimes it’s just different, y’know?”

Realising his vague answer explained absolutely nothing about the song, Harry tried to make a joke about it, which fell flat, too.

“2017, philosopher, London.”

Judging from that reaction, there’s no doubt Two Ghosts is about one Miss Swift.
