Nowadays it is nearly impossible to see Harry Styles wear anything but Gucci. The modern-day rockstar has single-handedly brought back sweater vests, flared pants and feather boas. If you know, you know. If he’s not wearing the Italian threads, Styles is sporting merch from his beauty brand, Pleasing. After enlisting creative director Alessandro Michele for just about every one of his appearances it should come as no surprise that the creative pair have teamed up for an exclusive collaborative capsule.
In an announcement made to social media, Gucci unveiled a first look at the collection aptly titled ‘Gucci HA HA HA’. The collaboration is inspired by the friendship of the Styles and Michele and draws from a single motif throughout their conversations: “hahaha”. It is also a blend of their initials.
The collection comprises of an impressive 25 looks, a “dream wardrobe” that blends ’70s aesthetics with crisp suiting including double breasted blazers and flares along with reimagined signature accessories and yes, for die-hard fans, printed pyjamas. “It’s sophisticated, and we paid a lot of attention to fabrics and sartorial details,” Michele told WWD of the collection, adding it was a “lighthearted activity” with a “serious” result.
“He has an incredible sense of fashion. He is obsessed with clothes,” he added of his co-collaborator. “He keeps sketches and an archive. He could easily be a stylist or a designer and is very free, representative of this new generation that is interested in so many things.
“I have been observing his ability to combine items of clothing in a way that is out of the ordinary compared to the required standards of taste and common sense and the homogenisation of appearance.”
The Gucci HA HA HA collection will be released in boutiques from October.
